Surprisingly useful - We can officially only rate these warmers at UPF 50+, but in our laboratory tests they actually blocked 99.8 percent of damaging UV rays. We used a polyester base that is not only more effective than nylon at blocking UV rays but is also much better at keeping you dry, which means these skins are better in both cooler and warmer conditions. Weve kept the construction very clean to eliminate seams that can rub, and we used our double-sided silicone elastic to make sure they stay in place. They fold up extremely small, so theyre great to stick in your pockets for your next big mountain day. With their Pro Seamless Arm Warmers, Castelli have started from scratch to create a better product. Other brands tend to use a simple nylon/lycra blend that holds moisture. Not good. Instead, Castelli have turned to Polyester to improve moisture management - it's harder to get right in terms of stretch, return and manufacturing consistency, but the benefits paid off in the end. The Pro Seamless will surprise you with how light they are and yet they're surprisingly warm too. Even as the weather turns mild, excellent moisture management prevents you from overheating. A high degree of stretch makes them brilliantly comfortable and when you take them off to stash in a pocket they take up a fraction of the space of normal warmers.
