The Hope Spiderless Retainer Ring Boost is designed specifically for their new cranks and uses a narrow/wide design to grip onto the chain and stop it from dismounting when riding over harsh and uneven terrain, which theoretically means you can ditch your chain guide for this simple and clean looking system. It mounts directly to the crank's axle and does away with the need of a spider which means you save a whole heap of weight. The Retainer Ring is designed to work with 9,10 and 11 speed set-ups and it provides a quieter drivetrain with less drag.
