Three sizes are available for 31.8mm handlebars: the 40/50mm Direct Mount Drop Stem puts the handlebar 10mm lower than a standard stem and lower than an adjustable direct mount design. Thomson also offers a 50mm Direct Mount Stems with 30 degrees of rise. 65mm handlebar clamp width creates maximum torsional stiffness, which translates into better steering precision.
