Created for riders who don't define themselves by one MTB discipline, the Tyrant MTB Helmet (MIPS) offers incredible levels of protection, amazing comfort and wraps it up in a distinctive design. Fully goggle compatible, it sets new standards for comfort, protection and multi-discipline performance. MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) The Mips system is designed to provide added safety for helmets in many accidents. For certain impacts, the Mips system can reduce harmful rotational motion that might otherwise be transferred to the user’s head. Rotational motion is a common cause of concussions in oblique hits to the head. In a crash, the Mips system is designed to move slightly inside the helmet to help redirect forces away from the head. Here the 14 Wind Tunnel vents, with cheek pad ventilation, keep fresh cool air circulating and push out warm stale air for greater moisture control and comfort. Giro also gives the Tyrant their Channeled Stack™ ventilation at the brow. This draws warm air away from your goggles, leaving your vision clear and fog-free - quick lines will never have been easier to see. Hardbody™ Shell The Hardbody shell wraps from the outside of the helmet to the inside, giving a significant boost to durability compared to regular helmets. The in-mould construction sees a tough polycarbonate outer shell fused directly with the helmet’s impact-absorbing foam liner. This in-mould fusion process allows Giro to optimise ventilation without compromising protection, so in-mould helmets can be both lighter and cooler than traditional helmets. Roc Loc® Air DH Fit System The Tyrant MTB helmet uses the Roc Loc® Air DH fit system, featuring a bumper around the dial to prevent accidental adjustments if your helmet contacts your backpack or neck brace - all while keeping you cool and allowing precise and easy adjustment of the fit.
