The near universal fitment of the Thule 968 FreeWay cycle carrier allows it to be fitted to many saloon cars which will not support other Thule carriers, or simply as a more cost effective alternative. Attaching via load straps onto the top, bottom and sides of the tailgate. Once tightened the carrier remains stable and secure, allowing transport of up to 3 bikes (60kg load capacity). All contact points are rubber coated to prevent damage to the car or bikes during transit, whilst the folding design enables easy storage when not in use. Supplied with bike mounts, suitable for all frames and a securing strap to keep everything in place. Designed for flat crossbars, bikes with non standard frames (WSD, full suspension and BMX) may require an adapter (981) to allow for correct fitment, cycle locks (538) are also available for increased security.Fitting:Rear mounted cycle carriers are not suitable for the majority of cars with rear spoilers. A new style of towball mounted cycle carrier, designed specifically for ease of use and storage, the Thule 970 Xpress mounts directly to a towball and can carry 2 bikes, secured from the crossbar with the included straps and hangers suitable for all bike frame sizes. Weighing just 4kg and folding completely flat when not in use the Xpress is perfect for occasional use, or when storage space is at a premium.
