High GI carbohydrate and protein formula to aid rapid recovery after exercise:., Optimal protein serving size of 20g with 2g of leucine to promote the rebuilding of muscle tissue., Helps replenish your energy stores fast., Ideal for lactose intolerant individuals., The original complete recovery productAbout SiS REGO Rapid RecoverySiS REGO Rapid Recovery contains a blend of easily digestible carbohydrates, protein, and electrolytes with vitamins & minerals to give a complete recovery product to be consumed immediately after exercise. Rapid replenishment of your glycogen stores and the provision of protein helps you to get the most from your training and prepare you for your next session.Benefits of SiS REGO Rapid Recovery?Carbohydrate is your bodies main fuel for moderate to high intensity exercise. Even if you fuel well during training you can still only absorb around 60g of carbohydrate per hour, meaning that demand will outstrip the supply of energy. This shortfall is met by using your glycogen stores, but these must be replenished after training if you are to perform well in your next session.giving rapidly digestible protein also gives amino acids to support muscle protein synthesis for growth and rebuild. Soy has a complete amino acid profile to which we have added additional leucine to make the formulation even more effective. Leucine is an amino acid which is known to switch on the signalling for muscle protein synthesis, amplifying the affect. This updated formulation of SiS REGO Rapid Recovery delivers an optimal protein serving size of 20g, including 2g of leucine.Recommended UsageConsume 1 x 50g serving of SiS REGO Rapid Recovery within 30 minutes of completing your training session. This product is designed to be mixed with 500ml of water, mixing it with milk will slow down the absorption rate.Nutritional Information:Typical values per 50g serving:., Energy: 782kj/184kcal., Protein: 20g., Carbohydrate: 23g., Of which sugars: 5.1g., Fat: 1.3g., Of which saturates: 0.2g., Fibre: 0.3g., Salt: 1.0gVitamins and Minerals: % RDA., Vitamin D: 1.0ug 20%., Vitamin E: 2.8mg 23%., Vitamin C: 24mg 30%., Thiamin: 0.5mg 45%., Riboflavin: 0.6mg 42%., Niacin: 7.3mg 45%., Vitamin B6: 0.8mg 57%., Folic Acid: 50ug 25%., Vitamin B12: 0.4ug 16%., Biotin: 18ug 36%., Pantothenic acid: 1.5mg 25%., Iron 2.4mg 17%., Magnesium: 57mg 15%., Zinc: 2.0mg 20%., Iodine: 23ug 15%., Potassium: 300mg 15%Contains a source of Phenylalanine and Soy.Suitable for Vegetarians.

Carbohydrate electrolyte drink to help fuel and hydrate during training or racing., 36 grams of carbohydrate per 500 ml serving., High in sodium to promote hydration., Delivers energy and fluid fastAbout SiS GO ElectrolyteSiS GO Electrolyte contains a blend of an easily digestible and quick supply of carbohydrate for energy as well as important electrolytes (such as sodium) that are required to promote optimal hydration. SiS GO Electrolyte is mixed at appropriate concentrations of carbohydrate (i.e. 36 grams of carbohydrate mixed as a 6% solution), sodium (20 mmol/L) and fluid (a 500 ml serving) in order to achieve the combined aims of both carbohydrate delivery and hydration. Why should I consume SiS GO Electrolyte? It is well documented that both carbohydrate depletion and dehydration are two of the major causes of fatigue in endurance exercise. In addition to ensuring optimal carbohydrate stores and hydration status before exercise, delivering additional carbohydrate and fluid during exercise is known to improve performance, race times and delay the onset of fatigue. Common mistakes made by endurance athletes are to consume too much carbohydrate at inappropriate concentrations (such that it can not be readily absorbed) or too little carbohydrate at low concentrations which although will increase fluid delivery will compromise carbohydrate delivery. As such, SiS GO Electrolyte represents a product that is formulated according to scientific research so as to achieve the right balance of both carbohydrate and fluid delivery. SiS GO Electrolyte therefore represents a strategic approach to offset the negative effects of carbohydrate depletion and dehydration on your performance.Recommended UsageConsume 500-1000 ml of SiS GO Electrolyte per hour during exercise in order to achieve both carbohydrate delivery and promote hydration. If it is not practical to consume this amount of fluid during exercise or the environmental temperatures do not require large fluid intakes, SiS GO Electrolyte could be consumed alongside the SiS GO Gel and GO Bar range in order to ensure appropriate carbohydrate intakes at the rate of 60 grams per hour.Nutritional InformationTypical values per 40g serving ., Energy: 623kj/146kcal., Protein: 0.0g., Carbohydrate: 37g., Of which sugars: 6.7g., Fat: 0.0g., Of which saturates: 0.0g., Fibre: 0.0g., Sodium: 20mmol/ 0.2gVitamins and Minerals: % RDA ., Calcium: 1.3mmol/ 3%., Magnesium: 5mg 0.4mmol/ 1%., Potassium: 60mg 3.1mmol/ 3%Contains a source of Phenylalanine - Suitable for vegans - Made in the UK

Energy gel with added caffeine to provide a mental and physical boost4 boxes of 6 x 60ml Gels75mg of caffeine per gel (150mg for Double Espresso),22 grams of carbohydrate per gel,Formulation delivering energy fast and efficiently,Store in a cool dry place,Suitable for Vegans.About SiS GO Energy + Caffeine Gel:Caffeine has been repeatedly shown to improve performance by lowering your perception of effort by providing a boost just when you need it.SiS GO Energy+Caffeine 75mg (150mg in double espresso flavour) provides a high dose of caffeine for high intensity races and long, tough days on the road.Benefits of the SiS GO Energy + Caffeine Gel 150mgWhen pushing yourself hard, your brain controls how fatigued you feel. Caffeine acts as a stimulant on the brain to lower your perception of effort, allowing you to keep pushing and maybe stretch yourself a little further.3-9mg of caffeine per kilo of body mass has been found to affect performance. 5 mg per kilo of body mass is thought to be beneficial for endurance performance, which for a 70kg person would equal 350mg.It can take 30-60 minutes after consumption for caffeine levels to peak in the blood, so if you are doing a short duration event (less than 60 minutes) you should take it before you start. If you are doing a much longer event, such as a marathon, 100 mile sportive, or half-ironman triathlon or longer, you should save your caffeine intake for the last two hours when your fatigue level is likely to catch up with you.Recommended UsageConsume 1 gel 1 hour before exercise for high intensity, short duration events to ensure the body starts with elevated caffeine levels. In longer duration events consume no more than 2 gels per day. Ensure you keep hydrated. This product is not intended for children, under 16's or pregnant women. Multiple-Transportable Carbohydrates,Whey Protein Isolate,Ribose, Glutamine, Vitamins and Minerals,Silky Smooth,Natural Flavours,No Colours, Artificial Sweeteners or Preservatives.Flavours:Banana & Mango,Chocolate Mint,Cookies & Cream,Strawberries & Cream.Description will appear here shortly...It is generally accepted that consuming Multiple-Transportable Carbohydrates and Whey Protein at a 3:1 ratio immediately after exercise will speed up glycogen synthesis (see fully referenced information below). In other words, it will help you to store carbohydrate more effectively than consuming carbohydrate alone and/or waiting until 'glycogen storage' window of opportunity has passed. It is also generally accepted that Whey protein is faster acting, more soluable and absorbed/synthesised more any other kind of protein, thus it gives the amino acids necessary for muscle repair with little delay. TORQ recovery represents this 3:1 blend of Multiple Transportable Carbohydrates and high quality Whey Protein. It is TORQ's unique blend of D-Ribose, L-Glutamine, Vitamins and Minerals that sets it apart from other recovery products on the market. L-Glutamine helps to protect the muscles from catabolic (muscle degrading) processes after exercise and also strengthens the immune system. D-Ribose re-charges the muscle cells after exercise so that they have the energy to contract to their full potential within 24 hours, a process that would take up to 3 days without supplemental Ribose. These are particularly expensive ingredients (they represent about 50% of this product, yet are only 9% of the ingredient pool) and it is not unusual for nutrition companies to claim that their products contain components like these, whilst giving too small a dose to have a significant effect. Most other products don't contain them at all. We do not believe in compromise, so every serving of TORQ recovery contains a dose of D-Ribose and L-Glutamine.Finally, the vitamins and minerals we blend into TORQ recovery are comprehensive. Heavy exercise takes an inevitable toll on the body and our recovery formulation wouldn't be complete without a generous serving of these essential micro-nutrients.

TORQ Recovery Drink is a highly advanced post-exercise nutritional drink formulation that has been designed to rehydrate, refuel, repair and recharge your fatigued physiology after heavy exercise. Key Features: 3:1 Carbohydrate : Protein, High Quality Whey Protein, Multiple Transportable Carbohydrates, Glutamine for Muscle/Immune Protection, Ribose for Cellular Regeneration, Part of the TORQ Recovery System, Simply add to Water,.TORQ Recovery Drink has been formulated to refuel, recharge and repair muscle tissue, so it is acceptable to reduce your dosage if you feel that you are carrying excess body fat. For instance, if you have a ‘race weight’ that you’re aiming for and know is achievable, take a dose that corresponds to that weight. Also, there’s efficacy for taking a smaller dose of TORQ Recovery for lighter exercise sessions to ‘assist’ in the recovery process – not every session necessarily requires the full dose. That said, ensure that you take the full (optimal) dose where necessary – for exhaustive high volume or high intensity workouts. You should consider getting yourself a TORQ Mixer Bottle, but as TORQ Recovery mixes very easily, as long as you have a receptacle with a watertight lid and some air space for mixing, that should work well too. Always add the level scoops of powder to the appropriate amount of water, not the other way round, and shake well to mix. Chilled water is ideal and adding crushed ice is even better! Once mixed, treat as fresh milk, keep refrigerated and consume within 24 hours. In this section we cover the benefits, properties and ingredients used within this product in detail…Hydration: It goes without saying that rehydration is an important part of the recovery process and the water you mix with the powder to make your drink will clearly help with this process. In situations where fluid losses are particularly high, your TORQ Recovery Drink will not provide sufficient fluid for comprehensive rehydration, so you should continue to drink plenty of fluids after your recovery drink has been consumed. Remember that comprehensive rehydration in exceptional circumstances also requires the replacement of lost electrolytes to restore homeostatic balance, so you may also wish to consider consuming TORQ Hydration to further assist the fluid replacement process when necessary.Refuelling/Replenishing Carbohydrate Stores: The body holds a very limited amount of stored (endogenous) carbohydrate in the muscles and liver – and this stored endogenous carbohydrate is called ‘glycogen.’ In total these stores equate to around 5% of the body’s total energy stores, however carbohydrate is the preferred fuel source and during exercise can equate to over 50% (or more) of total energy expended, depending on the intensity and duration of the exercise. These limited stores combined with a limited capacity to absorb and use carbohydrate during exercise can result in them becoming almost completely depleted during an intense endurance training session or competition.Once depleted, the body can replenish these glycogen stores in around 24hours to full resting levels, provided sufficient carbohydrate is taken in, however this process can take much longer if inadequate carbohydrate is consumed. Due to the time it takes for the body to restock these stores during heavy bouts of training and competition, where sessions are completed with limited rest and recovery, getting sufficient fuel on board and stored as glycogen becomes critical to performance in subsequent sessions and has been shown through research to restore exercise capacity more rapidly.Post exercise, there are two main phases to replenishing carbohydrate stores. Initially there is a very rapid phase which occurs independently of the hormone insulin and lasts around 30-60 minutes and this is followed by a much slower insulin-dependent phase which can last several hours. During this initial phase, the body is able to rapidly convert carbohydrate into glycogen thanks to the activity of the exercise-dependent Glut-4 transporter which works in a similar way to insulin. This, in combination with an increased exercise-induced insulin sensitivity, aiding the storage process further, makes it absolutely vital that the correct calories are consumed within the brief post-exercise window. Delaying carbohydrate intake by 2 hours or more has been shown to reduce the rate of carbohydrate storage (re-synthesis) by 50% which is not advisable with another competition or hard training session looming. It is therefore important to make best use of this immediately after exercise by ensuring adequate carbohydrate and this is why we recommend that TORQ Recovery is consumed within 15 minutes of finishing exercise. So there is a well established need for carbohydrate post exercise, but how much is required and in what form? Due to the limited timeframe in which the body is able to rapidly store carbohydrate after exercise, it pays to make maximum use of this time and get carbohydrate into the body as quickly as possible. The most effective way to do this is by ingesting some fast absorbing high GI (Glycaemic Index) forms of carbohydrate to ensure that it is delivered into the system quickly. High GI carbohydrates not only cause a rapid rise in blood sugar by delivering carbohydrate quickly, but also after the initial ‘insulin independent’ stage of recovery, it provokes a rapid release of insulin (the hormone responsible for the storage of carbohydrate) which further aids in the replenishment of the body’s endogenous stores of carbohydrate. As discussed below, fructose, which although a low GI carbohydrate, also plays a part because of its unique delivery method however. The Role of Multiple-Transportable Carbohydrates:The speed of carbohydrate absorption can also be further enhanced through the use of multiple transportable carbohydrates (i.e. two forms of carbohydrate that don’t compete for absorption in the gut) such as Maltodextrin:Fructose (as used in TORQ Recovery). Research by Wallis et al. has shown that the use of Glucose and Fructose combined can give glycogen re-synthesis rates comparable to some of the highest reported in research. Further to this Decombaz et al. recently demonstrated that using Maltodextrin and Fructose post exercise resulted in a two fold increase in the rate of carbohydrate re-synthesis in the liver, one of the major stores of carbohydrate. For short term recovery this has massive implications as a faster re-synthesis rate of carbohydrate will leave you fresher ready for the next training session/competition. The two very short video clips below demonstrate how glucose-derivatives and fructose use different carriers across the gut wall and how combining both allows greater overall carbohydrate absorption. The first clip shows how absorption through the gut wall is limited when carbohydrate is derived from glucose only.Muscular Repair & the Role of Whey Protein: Prolonged endurance exercise not only causes a strain on the body’s carbohydrate stores, but also induces muscle damage and causes a breakdown of proteins within the body. The addition of protein to a recovery drink can not only prevent the breakdown occurring, but also increases the rate of post exercise muscle synthesis, having an anabolic effect through offering substrate for muscle repair and aiding training adaptation. Protein synthesis and oxidation rates can be further increased through the use of Whey Isolate (the protein used in TORQ Recovery), a soluble protein that has a fast intestinal absorption further speeding up the rate of recovery. Significantly also, the addition of whey protein to a carbohydrate recovery drink has also been shown to elevate the circulating insulin concentrations and aid the storage of carbohydrate in the muscle and liver further, with a comparatively lower dose of carbohydrate.TORQ Recovery’s Unique Micronutrients: It is TORQ’s unique use of D-Ribose and L-Glutamine that sets it apart from other recovery products on the market. These are particularly expensive ingredients and it is not unusual for nutrition companies to either avoid using these expensive ingredients altogether or claim that their products contain important components like these, whilst providing too small a dose to have a significant effect. We do not believe in compromise, so every serving of TORQ Recovery contains a dose of D-Ribose and L-Glutamine that has been verified by the available research.Further Information on L-Glutamine: Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the body, in a large part because it is needed a lot by the brain, intestines, kidneys, lungs and immune system and also because you can manufacture your own. It is actually termed a ‘non-essential amino acid’, but this can be misleading, because under times of high physiological stress, if you leave your body to produce its own supply, it will break down muscle tissue in order to make it available.Continued Carbohydrate Consumption: In order to ensure maximum re-synthesis (storage) rates, research has pointed towards consuming around 1-1.2grams per kg body weight immediately after exercise. Anymore is unlikely to offer any further benefit and any less and it will potentially compromise the effectiveness of your recovery. This initial feed should then be followed up with regular carbohydrate feeding in frequent doses afterwards. There are a variety of regular low fat, high carbohydrate food choices that will enable you to achieve the desired amount of carbohydrate, but we do have a few products in our portfolio that will give you a helping hand. Use these products for pure convenience, or in situations where your exercise load is particularly high and you need specific tools to assist with the recovery process.Gluten Free Formulation: TORQ Recovery Drink is a gluten-free product.Natural Flavours and No Colours: Under exercise stress, digestion is affected as blood is diverted to the working muscles and any solutes added to a product will raise its osmolality unnecessarily making it harder to digest, so irrespective of the health debate surrounding the consumption of artificial ingredients, during and immediately after exercise is certainly not the time to take them. Therefore, we only use natural flavours that the body can recognise and break down easily and we don’t use colours (artificial or natural), because they simply don’t need to be in the product. No Artificial Sweeteners: For the same reasons as highlighted above, we don’t believe in the use of artificial sweeteners like Aspatame, Acsulfame-K, Saccharine and Sucralose. These artificial sweeteners are 100’s of times sweeter than sugar and Aspartame/Acsulfame-K are particularly controversial with regard to long-term health. They offer no performance benefit at all and our stance is the same with these as with colours and preservatives – if they don’t need to be included in our formulations for functional reasons, why include them?
TORQ Vegan Recovery Drink is a highly advanced post-exercise nutritional drink formulation that has been designed to Rehydrate, Refuel, Repair and Recharge your fatigued physiology after heavy exercise. Key Features: 3:1 Carbohydrate:Protein, High Quality Pea Protein Content, Fast-Acting High GI Carbohydrates, Glutamine for Muscle/Immune Protection, Ribose for Cellular Regeneration, Part of the TORQ Recovery System, Add to either Fruit Juice or Oat Milk,.Like TORQ’s flagship whey-based Recovery Drink, TORQ Vegan Recovery Drink has been designed to work as part of the highly comprehensive and thorough TORQ Recovery System. This system considers the level of activity you are performing and recommends concepts and products from the TORQ range to suit your physical loading in a cumulative fashion. We offer 2 different formulations, Creamy Cocoa which is designed to be added to 400ml of Oat Milk and Robust & Fruity to be added to 400ml of Orange Juice (or another flavour of fruit juice if desired). The oat milk or fruit juice used kick-starts the hydration process. Our matrix of Glucose Polymers, Dextrose, Pea Protein Isolate and the carbohydrates already present in the oat milk/fruit juice stimulate the rapid absorption of carbohydrate to re-stock vital glycogen stores. Along with our use of high quality Pea Protein, our active ingredients, D-Ribose, L-Glutamine work together to repair and recharge over-stressed muscle fibres. D-Ribose in particular is unique to the TORQ brand and there is no other nutrient available on the market today that is capable of refreshing energy levels at the intra-cellular level. We consider TORQ’s non-vegan whey-based Recovery Drink to be the most thorough and effective formulation of its kind on the market today and our Vegan version shares the same technology. We will not compromise, which is why we have used the highest quality plant-based Pea Protein rather than lower quality less effective plant protein sources. D-Ribose and L-Glutamine are extremely potent micronutrients which add unrivalled fortification to these recovery blends. No flavours or colours are added to these formulations. The Creamy Cocoa blend uses cocoa powder to flavour it and the Robust & Fruity blend relies on the natural flavours within the orange juice you’re mixing with it.Like our whey-based recovery drink, TORQ Vegan Recovery represents a 3:1 blend of carbohydrates and high quality protein. It is generally accepted that consuming carbohydrates and protein at a 3:1 ratio immediately after exercise will speed up glycogen synthesis. In other words, the addition of high quality protein will help you to store carbohydrate more effectively than consuming carbohydrate alone. It is also generally accepted that Pea Protein is the closest (in terms of quality and functionality) plant-based protein to Whey Protein. It’s the fastest acting, most soluble and most readily absorbed/synthesised of the plant proteins, thus it provides the amino acids necessary for muscle repair with little delay.Consuming TORQ Vegan Recovery within 15 minutes of exercise completion to take advantage of the ‘glycogen storage window of opportunity’ is also essential. This is called the ‘non-insulin phase’ of carbohydrate absorption. There are 2 versions of TORQ Vegan Recovery available and they have different formulations based upon the base fluid you choose to use.The Creamy Cocoa version is designed to be added to Oat Milk. You can add it to Rice Milk, Almond Milk or Soya Milk if you want, but we advise the use of Oat Milk, as this is the product we based our formulation upon. We recommend Alpro Original Oat Milk but you can use any brand.Simply pour 400ml of Oat Milk into your TORQ Mixer Bottle, add 5 level scoops of powder, screw the top on to your mixer bottle, shake vigorously and enjoy!A 1.5Kg pouch of Creamy Cocoa TORQ Vegan Recovery powder will give you 15 serves. The Robust & Fruity version has been designed to be added to regular long-life Orange Juice (the kind you get in 1 litre cartons at the supermarket) although there’s no reason why you couldn’t use another fruit juice flavour as all have a similar carbohydrate content. We recommend orange as we feel this tastes the best, so formulated around this. We have formulated around Tesco’s Orange Juice but you can use any brand.Simply pour 400ml of Orange Juice into your TORQ Mixer Bottle, add 4 level scoops of powder, screw the top onto your mixer bottle, shake vigorously and enjoy!A 1.5Kg pouch of Robust & Fruity TORQ Vegan Recovery powder will provide you with 19 serves. Our Robust & Fruity version does offer better value for money per serve, but the Creamy Cocoa product does have a beautifully rich and creamy flavour. We’ll let you decide what your taste buds are going to prefer! Both will give you the precise blend of nutrients you need.In this section we cover the benefits, properties and ingredients used within this product in detail…Hydration: It goes without saying that rehydration is an important part of the recovery process and the fluid (Oat Milk or Orange Juice) you mix with the powder to make your drink will clearly help with this process. In situations where fluid losses are particularly high, your TORQ Vegan Recovery Drink will not provide sufficient fluid to comprehensively rehydrate you, so you should continue to drink plenty of fluids after your recovery drink has been consumed. Remember that comprehensive rehydration in exceptional circumstances also includes replacing lost electrolytes to restore homeostatic balance, so you might want to consider consuming TORQ Hydration after your recovery drink when dehydration is extreme.Refuelling/Replenishing Carbohydrate Stores: The body has a very limited amount of carbohydrate, stored in the muscles and liver. In total these carbohydrate stores equate to around 5% of the body’s total energy stores, however carbohydrate is the preferred fuel source and during exercise can equate to over 50% (or more) of total energy expended, depending on the intensity and duration of the exercise. These limited stores combined with a limited capacity to absorb and use carbohydrate during exercise can result in them becoming almost completely depleted during an intense endurance training session or competition.Once depleted, the body can replenish these stores to full resting levels within around 24 hours providing sufficient carbohydrate is taken in, however this process can take much longer if inadequate carbohydrate is consumed and attention isn’t paid towards the timing of the carbohydrate ingestion.Post-exercise, there are two main phases to replenishing carbohydrate stores. Delaying carbohydrate intake by 2 hours or more has been shown to reduce the rate of carbohydrate storage (re-synthesis) by 50%, which is not advisable with another competition or hard training session looming! It is therefore important to consume TORQ Vegan Recovery as soon as possible after exercise (we recommend within 15 minutes). The Role of Pea Protein in TORQ Vegan Recovery: Prolonged endurance exercise not only causes a strain on the body’s carbohydrate stores, but also induces muscle damage and causes a breakdown of proteins within the body. The addition of protein to a recovery drink can not only prevent the breakdown occurring, but also increases the rate of post exercise muscle synthesis, having an anabolic effect through offering substrate for muscle repair and aiding training adaptation.TORQ Vegan Recovery’s Unique Micronutrients: It is TORQ’s unique use of D-Ribose and L-Glutamine that sets it apart from other recovery products on the market. Use these products for pure convenience, or in situations where your exercise load is particularly high and you need specific tools to assist with the recovery process.Gluten Free & Vegan Formulation: TORQ Vegan Recovery Drink is a gluten-free product. The formulation is also entirely plant-based, so is suitable for Vegans. Remember that if you do add oat milk to your Creamy Cocoa version, you will be adding gluten, so either use almond milk or opt for the Robust & Fruity formulation instead which will produce an entirely gluten-free drink.Natural Flavours and No Colours: Under exercise stress, digestion is affected as blood is diverted to the working muscles and any solutes added to a product will raise its osmolality unnecessarily making it harder to digest, so irrespective of the health debate surrounding the consumption of artificial ingredients, during and immediately after exercise is certainly not the time to take them. They offer no performance benefit at all and our stance is the same with these as with colours and preservatives – if they don’t need to be included in our formulations for functional reasons, why include them? The research is clear, fuelling with carbohydrate and ensuring that you consume a recovery drink immediately after exercise will not only boost performance and assist in the overall recovery process, but it will also support your immune system, leaving you less vulnerable to infection.
TORQ Hydration is a lightly flavoured hydrating drink mix, which has been formulated to optimise fluid and electrolyte delivery over any other factor.TORQ Hydration Drink uses passive and facilitated transport mechanisms to optimise fluid and electrolyte delivery. Its hypotonic formulation capitalises on the passive transport process, whilst the high sodium and mild glucose content drives the facilitated transport activity. This makes TORQ Hydration Drink the most thorough and effective hydration product on the market today, with significant benefits over electrolyte tablets.TORQ Hydration Drink’s advanced hypotonic formulation is specifically aimed at optimising hydration where events/sessions are no more than an hour long, and heavy sweat loss is anticipated. Indoor training activities like Zwift, Sufferfest and studio cycling for cyclists and other indoor exercise classes like body pump and circuit training are good examples. TORQ Hydration Drink can also be used as part of the TORQ Fuelling System during longer events as an alternative to TORQ Energy Drink and is a popular choice with runners who can combine it with TORQ Gels to satisfy their fuelling and hydration requirements. The contents of a sachet or single level scoop of TORQ Hydration Drink powder makes a 500ml of drink. TORQ Hydration Drink mixes very easily, but if using a 500ml bottle, be sure to leave a small amount of air space to facilitate mixing. Shake vigorously and top up with water to make 500ml. Don’t add water to powder, add powder to water. TORQ Hydration is now ready to drink. As TORQ Hydration Drink has a very low carbohydrate content, it is literally impossible to over-fuel with it. In order to achieve an intake of 90g of carbohydrate per hour through TORQ Hydration Drink alone, you would need to drink an enormous 3 litres! It would be rare to need to consume more than a litre of fluid per hour in most endurance environments and since we know that a litre of TORQ Hydration Drink will deliver 30g of carbohydrate, a valid approach to fuelling when using TORQ Hydration Drink would be to consume 2 further concentrated TORQ Units per hour (either TORQ Energy Gels, Bars or Chews). In other words, you could set a reminder on your watch or phone to beep every 30 minutes, at which point you would consume a gel, bar or chew. Your hydration would then be a separate entity and you would simply drink TORQ Hydration to thirst.Consuming 1 litre of TORQ Hydration along with a concentrated fuelling unit every 30 minutes would provide you with the optimal 90g of carbohydrate per hour (3 TORQ Units). If you were to drink only 500ml of TORQ Hydration in an hour, with this approach you would take on board 75g of carbohydrate per hour, but this is still a very good level of fuelling. It would still sit within the 2-3 TORQ Units per hour range and would put you somewhere between Intermediate and Advanced on the ‘Easy as 1 2 3’ scale. Key Features: Superior to Electrolyte Tablets, Fastest Possible Hydration, Hypotonic Profile with 5 Electrolytes, Specialist Indoor Training Product, Perfect for Zwift or Sufferfest, Part of the TORQ Fuelling System, 500ml TORQ bottle with Grip cap and wide mouth opening, 6 x TORQ Hydration sachets: 2 x Tangerine, 2 x Lemon, 2 x Watermelon. Makes 6 x 500ml drinks.,.Hypotonicity: For any drink/solution to be effective in hydrating us, it must be rapidly absorbed into the body. One of the main factors affecting how quickly solutions are absorbed, is the speed at which it can move across the wall of the small intestine and into the blood stream. Fluids are absorbed into the body almost exclusively in the small intestine, via two main mechanisms; passive transport, and facilitated transport.Passive Transport: Here, water moves across the small intestine as a result of an osmotic gradient, which is a result of a pressure difference between the solution in the small intestine and blood stream. Water molecules move across semi permeable membranes (the intestinal wall) through channels called aquaporins.Facilitated Transport: Water can also enter the body in the small intestine as a result of the absorption of carbohydrate and sodium, through the process of cotransport. Carbohydrates, such as glucose, are absorbed into the body via a specific transporter called sodium-glucose cotransporter 1, or SGLUT1 for short. These transporters act as a conveyor belt for glucose and sodium, moving them across the small intestine without the need for an osmotic gradient. As carbohydrate and sodium is moved through the SGLUT1 transporter, it also drags with it large volumes of fluid, significantly assisting in hydration. For every single glucose molecule (and 2 sodium molecules) that is moved by SGLUT1, 260 water molecules are moved with it.The Fastest Possible Method of Hydration: A hypotonic solution offering combined passive and facilitated transport mechanisms represents the fastest possible way to hydrate. In situations where perspiration rates are extremely high over short periods of exercise (up to 60 minutes), including intense indoor turbo/cycling sessions, spinning classes and short competitions in extreme heat, replenishing fluids with TORQ Hydration will deliver superior performance over any other fuelling/hydration strategy.Electrolytes: TORQ Hydration Drink contains Sodium, Chloride, Magnesium, Potassium and Calcium to replace the 5 electrolytes lost through perspiration. These salts maintain homeostasis within the body, allow it to hold onto water and preserve muscle function. As the animation above demonstrates, the sodium content of TORQ Hydration combined with the light glucose content is essential for the facilitated transport process to take place. Disadvantages of Pure Water: Pure water is a particularly poor hydrator. Plain water causes bloating due to poor absorption and also suppresses the thirst reflex, leading to decreased desire to drink. It also stimulates urine output and is therefore, inefficiently retained within the body. The carbohydrate and electrolytes in TORQ Hydration’s formulation overcome all of these problems.Multiple-Transportable Carbohydrates: TORQ Hydration Drink utilises a 2:1 blend of glucose-derivatives and fructose founded on a now substantial body of peer-reviewed published research (see References tab). The carbohydrate sources for TORQ Hydration Drink come from sucrose & dextrose, sucrose being 1:1 glucose-derivatives:fructose and dextrose being 100% glucose-derivatives. This dual-delivery carbohydrate formulation has been proven beyond doubt to supply energy faster than any other combination of carbohydrates or single carbohydrate source formulations.Gluten Free & Vegan Formulation: TORQ Hydration Drink is a gluten-free hydration product. The formulation for TORQ Hydration Drink is also entirely plant-based, so is suitable for Vegans.Natural Flavours and No Colours: Under exercise stress, digestion is affected as blood is diverted to the working muscles and any solutes added to a product will raise its osmolality unnecessarily making it harder to absorb, so irrespective of the health debate surrounding the consumption of artificial ingredients, during exercise is certainly not the time to take them.
