The taller headtube distributes stress at the front of the frame over a larger area and also means you can run your stem and forks with no headset spacers for a cleaner look up front. Dan Paley's signature Soulja frame is built for battle, thanks to a super wide rear end, an invest cast bridge, and integrated chain tensioners! On a frame the highest concentration of stress is at the junctions between the headtube/toptube and headtube/downtube. To handle the pressures of modern riding, the required strength is achieved by beefing this area up using a combination of butted tubing and external gussets. The seatclamp is built into the frame so there's no need for a separate clamp. This keeps the frame clean and simple while also allowing the seat to be slammed lower. The Sureshot frame from BSD. Utilising a low BB, longer rear end, mellower head angle and removable brake lugs, the Sureshot is designed and built with speed and trails in mind. BSD used a new heat treated invest cast seatstay bridge on the Sureshot frame which offers a stronger and stiffer rear end. They also used an invest cast seatclamp brazed onto the frame so there's no need for a separate clamp. Strong and Lightweight Carbon Frame and Fork The Superstar endurance bike is Cinelli's cutting-edge carbon fibre re-interpretation of the mythical Italian stage-racing bicycle that is the brand's heritage and DNA. Unlike other brands that each year offer bicycles with an ever-narrowing scope of use, Cinelli obsessed over the way in which the inherent qualities of carbon fibre and its manufacturing processes could be employed to produce an aggressively contemporary version of the legendary versatility of the Italian Grand Tour ride quality. The Superstar was born from the intelligent balance of low-weight, aggressive handling, over highly varied terrain, coupled with long-distance riding comfort. The Superstar not only adheres to a traditional Italian racing geometry (72.5-degree headtube and 407mm chainstays) but is also characterised by the forms of the frame, to allow the greatest precision and customisation of the lay-up of different grades of carbon in the construction process. For example, see how the tangent lines joining the top and down tubes to the head tube allow for the carbon fibre to remain completely straight thus offering the maximum weight-to-stiffness ratio. Enhanced Geometry for Greater Stability and Control The proprietary bowed top tube, whose form allows for a controlled deformation of the top tube headtube when the frame is subject to strong vertical or horizontal forces such as potholes, poorly surfaced roads etc. The controlled deformation results above all in a head tube that remains 8 percent more parallel to its original position, allowing for greater control and predictability of handling when riding in rough conditions. The use of both external and unlike most other models on the market internal PU moulds during the carbon curing process, allowing for greater compression of the fibres as well as minimising the amount of resin needed and greatly increasing long-term reliability of the frame. Tyre clearance is up to 28mm and cable routing is fully compatible with mechanical and electronic groupsets.
