Full-Suspension Carbon Frame Enduro Race Bike To optimise the weight, strength and stiffness, the Mega Carbon frame features a T700/800 UD woven carbon fibre frameset (Front and rear Triangle). The carbon swingarms help reduce the unsprung weight on the rear of the bike. It is available for 27.5”, 297 or 29” wheel sizes. These are totally different, compromise-free frames that were designed and developed at the same time. Each frame is simply tailored around each wheel size so that you can get the most out of every ride. Updated Sizing and Geometry Whilst humans may not have changed size much in recent years; the bikes they choose to ride most certainly have. To ensure a perfectly dialled fit Nukeproof now offer 297 bikes in S, M, or L sizes and 290 bikes in M, L, XL or XXL. Lower, longer, steeper and slacker. The Mega geometry is now designed around the saddle offset for each size to optimise seated weight distribution. This results in steeper seat angles across the board but especially on larger sizes for taller riders. This in turn results in longer reach figures to ensure a comfortable cockpit on each size. This Nukeproof Mega 297c MX kit includes everything you need* to convert a 290c Mega V4 frame into a 297c MX bike, running a 29” front and 27.5” rear wheel. Why would you want to do that? A mixed wheel set-up uses a 29” wheel up front to maximise grip and rolling efficiency and replaces the 29” with a 27.5” wheel out back. The smaller 27.5” rear wheel ensures nimble handling and extra clearance for riders when leaning off the back of the bike (Especially on steep terrain). For a carbon Mega 290c frame conversion to 297c, no additional frame parts are required to complete the installation. All current 290c frame parts will transfer to the MX kit as shown in the fitting guide. Please Note: You will require a Boost 148mm 27.5” Rear wheel and tyre, not included. Triple-Butted Alloy MTB Frame The Alloy Reactor features a custom triple butted hydro-formed tube set and carbon seat stays, which help reduce the overall weight of the frameset. Critically this reduces the unsprung weight; making the suspension as active as possible. The Reactor is available for 27.5” or 29” wheel sizes. These are two totally different, compromise-free frames that were designed and developed at the same time. Each frame is simply tailored around each wheel size. Speed or play: which do you value more? The manoeuvrability of 27.5” or the raw speed of a 29”? Adjustable Geometry All Reactor frames feature a “flip chip” to adjust the geometry from “Trail” to “Rail mode”. Trail – As the name suggests, this setting is best suited for trail riding. It is for riders who get as much enjoyment from the climb as the descents. Rail - The Rail setting turns the Reactor into a corner shredder, dropping the bottom bracket 6mm and slackening the head angle by half a degree. It is there to maximise the descending capabilities. Suspension Design To ensure the bike could climb as well as it descends, Nukeproof designed the four bar horst linkage to have higher levels of anti-squat for climbing gears but lower levels when you drop down the cassette. This means that the bike can behave itself on the climbs but when you get it up to speed, it turns into a trail hooligan. The combination of low anti-squat and progressive rate give ultimate small bump compliance (removes rough trail and root chatter) with good mid stroke support for cornering/pumping and end stroke progression for aggressive riding. Balanced anti-rise figures allow the Reactor some squat when braking hard, maintaining rider position and providing a good amount of pressure through the tyre to ensure traction. The Reactor is designed to reward the rider and ensure you get that stoke factor in on any ride.
