Protection from the elements is achieved through an adjustable taper ring covers and integrated rubber seals, whilst the bearings also incorporate their own sealing and being made from stainless steel resist corrosion.

The Hope Oval Retainer Ring uses a narrow/wide design to grip onto the chain and stop it from dismounting when riding over harsh and uneven terrain, which theoretically means you can ditch your chain guide for this simple and clean looking system. The Oval Retainer Ring is designed to work with 9,10 and 11 speed set-ups and it provides a quieter drivetrain with less drag.
