Featuring an integrated seal that’s pre-assembled into the cups, SRAM’s PressFit 30 bottom bracket is designed to keep out dirt and water that could cause increased wear and tear. Simple to fit, it is designed for road and mountain bike (MTB) frames with bottom bracket shells with a 46mm inner diameter and cranksets with 30mm diameters. The key difference with PressFit 30 is how the bearings are fitted into the frame. Bearings are housed in nylon cups which will be pressed into the frames bottom bracket shell. This bottom bracket is designed for 30mm spindle cranksets. Frames will need a 46mm inner diameter bottom bracket shell to accommodate this system. PressFit 30 for road will require a 68mm wide shell while PressFit 30 for MTB will require a 73mm wide shell. When designing the SRAM PressFit 30 bottom bracket, the brand set out with the aim of combining the best of BB30 technologies with the best features of the Pressfit standard. How Does the Tubular Clincher Tyre Work? When inflated, the tubular clincher (see image below), in the same way as a tubular, is pressed towards the rim. Simultaneously, the bead blocks of the profiled rubber band spread out embedding on the rim shoulders and eliminating any rotation of the tubular clincher against the rim as well as the possibility of the tubular clincher unseating. As the tubular clincher is inflated, the band side literally 'bite' into the rim shoulders. Benefits of Tufo's tubular clincher tyres: high inflation pressures - up to 15 bars (220 psi) without any damage to the rim walls, even in a case when the rim manufacturer specifies lower inflation pressures (the pressure is contained inside the tubular clincher and does not affect the rim wall), same riding quality as with tubular tyres, safe handling in case of punctures (the stability of a rider is not affected), the tubular clincher can be ridden when flat, and the fastest and easiest installation and dismantling without any tools.
A direct replacement for the bearings found in Nukeproof BSA & pressfit Hollowtech II / GXP bottom brackets, these bearings have a titanium coating which is applied in a vaporised vacuum environment, which allows its structure and density to be fine-tuned. The ti (titanium) coating helps prevent rust and damage from external elements. These MR2437 bearings are ABEC 5 certified and will suit all Nukeproof BSA & pressfit Hollowtech II / GXP bottom brackets as well as any other bottom bracket requiring a MR2437 bearing.
