This gives you a high degree of waterproof protection, rated at 10,000mm, and, just as important for a cycling jacket, it's highly breathable too, rated up to 20000g/m2/24hr. Rain can't get in, sweat can get out. When you're pedalling hard and building up heat large underarm vents give you easy temperature regulation too. This makes it easy to let warm damp air out and introduce cool air inside.
