Many cleaning products contain silicon, polish or other additives which have a detrimental effect on disc brakes. Problems caused range from squealing to total loss of power. Hope realised that the only way to stop these problems would be to produce their own range of cleaners. Shifter contains no Sodium Hydroxide (caustic soda) which attacks aluminium and anodised surfaces. Shifter contains a substitute component that acts as a very effective releasing agent cutting through dirt without attacking material surfaces.
Over time contaminants build up on your pads and rotors that reduce the friction between them. This can happen quite quickly to the point you notice straight away or more likely it happens over time and you don’t notice it much as the incremental difference on each ride is less. Regardless, you are either having to pull harder on the brake lever to achieve the same stopping power or you are braking earlier and for longer to slow down in time for your next obstacle – neither of which is an ideal situation! A quick blast of Brake Juice will restore sharpness to your brakes in no time, meaning later, harder braking for the same finger effort (which can in turn reduce arm pump) and quicker times. Brake Juice has a chlorine-free formulation that will not do any of the following: Contaminate the pads and reduce their friction with the discs. Cause that incredibly annoying ongoing squeaky brake syndrome Harm the plastic, rubber or paintwork on your bike. Leave a residue Directions: Spray directly on to callipers, pads and rotors and let it do it’s thing. Brake Juice dries quickly, with no residue so there is no need to wipe anything off. Initial performance does differ between pad compounds and different brands. Generally we have found that the Brake Juice evaporates more quickly from semi metallic and sintered pads than it does from organic pads. So if you do use organic pads you may experience a short period of brake squeak but this will quickly stop.
Directions: Get your bike wet Spray or brush Dirt Juice onto the bike and leave it to work its magic for no longer than 2 minutes, agitating the most stubborn areas with brush or sponge. If you prefer a bit more foaming action spray directly on to a brush and get to work with that. Rinse off with fresh water.
